Job description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is one of the top ranked international design and construction firms by ENR magazine and seeking Project Controls professionals to support a growing program in the Ontario Canada area. These positions will be in support of large construction projects across multiple business sectors in support of a high energy team of project professionals. The successful candidate for this position will provide project planning, scheduling, and cost management support, support an established project risk management process, and actively engage with field operations throughout the project lifecycle.

Primary duties will be preparing and maintaining project schedules, tracking cost, performing earned value analysis, working with project managers and construction managers in preparing estimate to complete, and other project controls related activities.

Please note we will consider candidates based in various locations throughout Ontario, but these roles will need to be primarily at the project site in Eastern Ontario.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining WBS and project coding structures using Primavera software
  • Developing and maintaining cost loaded schedules for both design and construction related projects
  • Utilize project management systems to update and manage project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts
  • Conduct project performance analysis using earned value techniques
  • Support reporting requirements for invoice submittals and monthly status reports
  • Maintain project budget and forecast spending plans
  • Downloading and analyzing project expenditures, commitments, and invoicing data
  • Provide proposal support to include schedules, reports, cost analysis, and other Primavera supporting functions
Skills / Qualifications
  • Seeking a highly self-motivated candidate who can operate successfully in a dynamic environment within a high energy team of project professionals
  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related discipline
  • 5+ years project controls/cost-schedule experience
  • Proficiency in use of Primavera P6
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the MS Office 365 environment
  • Proficiency with Ares Prism is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal skills, creative solution and problem-solving skills
  • Willing to travel on an as needed basis
