Job description

As a Project Manager, Municipal Infrastructure & Strategic Pursuits, you will support ICONIX’s growth in municipal water infrastructure projects across Canada. This role combines project management, customer engagement, and bid development, allowing you to be involved from the initial proposal and tender stages through project completion.

You will support municipal water meter, AMI/AMR technology, and deployment opportunities by developing proposals, project plans, and customer presentations. Once projects are awarded, you will lead execution from kickoff to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to customer expectations.

Working with municipalities, consultants, vendors, and internal teams, you will coordinate project activities, manage risks, resolve issues, and provide technical and operational support, including onsite field investigations when required.

This is a great opportunity for an organized, self-driven professional who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and leading projects that help communities modernize their water infrastructure.

  • Lead municipal water infrastructure opportunities from RFP/RFQ review and proposal development through project completion.
  • Develop winning proposals, project plans, schedules, risk assessments, and technical submissions in collaboration with Sales, Operations, and Technical teams.
  • Act as the key customer contact, building strong relationships and leading meetings, presentations, and project updates.
  • Manage timelines, budgets, resources, scope, vendors, and risks to ensure projects are delivered successfully.
  • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, contractors, and technology teams to keep projects moving.
  • Support meter, AMI/AMR, and technology implementations, including onsite investigations and troubleshooting when required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, proposal processes, and customer experience.

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Engineering, CET, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field; PMP is an asset.
  • 3–5+ years of project management experience, ideally in municipal infrastructure, utilities, technology deployment, construction, waterworks, or related industries.
  • Proven experience managing projects through planning, execution, and closeout, with experience in proposals, tenders, procurement, or customer-facing technical sales considered a strong asset.
  • Strong organizational, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and customer expectations.
  • Commercial awareness, including understanding of project budgets, risk management, and customer value.
  • Experience with municipal governments, public utilities, water/wastewater systems, AMI/AMR technologies, or infrastructure projects is a strong asset.
  • Comfortable working onsite at customer locations and travelling throughout Canada and the USA as required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
