EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: PROJECT MANAGER

CBLH Design is seeking a licensed Project Manager to join our team. We are looking for a self-motivated, design and detail-oriented architect who enjoys working collaboratively and is ready to take an active role in the design and delivery of projects.

Our Project Managers work closely with firm leadership, clients, consultants and project teams throughout all phases of design and construction. The position includes meaningful project responsibility, direct client interaction and opportunities to lead and coordinate projects from early design through construction administration.

This is a full-time, in-office position.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Project Manager, you will provide overall leadership and management of projects from initial planning through construction. Responsibilities include:

 

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for clients and maintain strong, responsive client relationships throughout the project.
  • Lead project teams through all phases of design and construction, establishing clear expectations, responsibilities and communication protocols.
  • Develop and manage project work plans, schedules, staffing requirements and deliverables in coordination with firm leadership.
  • Lead client, consultant and internal project team meetings, documenting decisions and maintaining accountability for follow-up items.
  • Coordinate the work of Project Architects, designers, engineering consultants and specialty consultants to maintain alignment with project requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with Project Architects to maintain project quality, interdisciplinary coordination and consistency throughout project documentation.
  • Manage project milestones, client reviews, agency submissions and other critical project deliverables.
  • Provide leadership during bidding and Construction Administration, including coordination with owners, contractors and the design team.
  • Proactively identify project risks related to scope, schedule, budget, coordination or client expectations and work with firm leadership to develop appropriate solutions.
  • Support and mentor project team members while helping establish clear priorities and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Participate in project pursuits, interviews, proposals and the development of existing and prospective client relationships as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate should demonstrate strong project leadership, communication and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage clients, multidisciplinary teams and architectural projects through all phases of design and construction.

  • 7+ years of professional architectural experience with demonstrated experience managing architectural projects.
  • Professional degree from an accredited program.
  • Active architectural license preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing and multidisciplinary consultant teams.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Experience leading projects through programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, bidding and Construction Administration.
  • Strong understanding of architectural design, documentation, detailing and construction processes.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, zoning regulations and permitting processes.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors and internal project teams.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
  • Working proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to lead collaboratively, delegate effectively and mentor developing professionals.
