Job Summary:

The Project Manager provides project focused leadership and management of cross functional Business, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams while assuming accountability for overall success of assigned projects.  Project Management responsibilities extend from a range of business needs, included but not limited to; strategic sourcing and supplier transitions, design to cost activities, productivity improvements, operational excellence projects, new product integration, quality improvements, and continuous improvement (CBS) projects. Project management success is measured by customer satisfaction of the overall project outcome, on time completion of project milestones, and adherence to recurring and non-recurring cost targets.

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with Supply Chain and Tactical Procurement to ensure that detailed supplier hardware delivery status is available for Operations’ planning purposes and sales forecasting. Establish necessary plans and tracking methods to support smooth flow of information from supplier to Crane team.

  • Ensure that recurring cost data is generated in context of production volumes, leveraging common parts where possible, such that IPT Lead has visibility into product cost data for alignment with business case. Plan and execute recovery actions with support of Engineering and Procurement to ensure that business case cost targets are adhered to. 

  • Own overall adherence to annual productivity targets as supported by multiple functional groups. Solicit ideas for, track, and facilitate completion of productivity initiatives. Report status to leadership on a regular cadence.

  • Create, monitor, and update project plans in sufficient detail which define the required processes / activities of various functional groups to achieve customer defined milestones / deliverables within Crane process guidelines

  • Lead, manage, and motivate required cross functional teams through effective utilization of personnel assigned to the project from all functional groups within the company

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties to ensure timely execution of project tasks and milestones

  • Ensure adherence to project timeline and costs by responsible parties and escalate as appropriate to ensure timely completion

  • Coordinate sufficient in-house project reviews with various functional groups to ensure projects are on schedule to cost targets and aligned with scheduled completion dates.

  • Ensure all stakeholders understand the project schedule, their respective role, and responsible deadlines.

  • Prioritize resources and tasks to drive key milestone adherence

  • Identify, track, manage, and assist in resolving issues that impact project success.

  • Establish strong working relationships with cross functional team through demonstrated leadership and effective communication.

  • Strive to meet and exceed financial objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis

  • Drives rapid action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays

  • Any other task assigned by your supervisor or management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ years' experience supporting manufacturing and supply chain data analyses in an aerospace environment

  • Knowledge: Proficient in Project Management philosophies and processes.  Possess sufficient aptitude to understand the impact of an array of business-related issues and how to drive resolution. 

  • Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated Leadership Skills, Results Focus, Customer Service Orientation, Action Orientation, Planning & Organizing, Teamwork & Cooperation, Business Acumen, Decision-Making Skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Project and other PC based office tools.

  • Education/Certification: BS degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or equivalent. 

  • Eligibility: This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

·        Some experience in a technical field preferred, preferably aerospace.

·        MBA or comparable advanced management degree

·        Formal training in Program and / or Systems Management (PMI or equivalent)

·        Has experience successfully leading projects to reduce cost/increase throughput/eliminate waste.

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment

  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes

  • Travel up to 25%, some international
