Job Description Title: Project Manager Comp: $120,000-$135,000 Location: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid) Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a direct hire Project Manager position. This individual will manage complex industrial automation and process control projects from kickoff through completion, overseeing scope, budget, scheduling, and customer communication while partnering with technical subject matter experts to successfully deliver projects across a variety of manufacturing industries. Responsibilities: Manage multiple automation and process control projects ranging from several thousand dollars to over $5 million Oversee all aspects of project execution including scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, cost control, and customer satisfaction Manage 15-25 projects simultaneously, varying in size, complexity, and duration Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle Coordinate cross-functional project teams consisting of automation, controls, electrical, and engineering subject matter experts Support project startup activities, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), customer commissioning, and post-installation support Monitor project progress, identify risks, and proactively resolve issues to keep projects on schedule and within budget Communicate project status with customers, internal stakeholders, and leadership Support projects across industries including chemical processing, steel, plastics, asphalt, food & beverage, automotive, consumer products, and other industrial manufacturing sectors Collaborate closely with engineering teams responsible for PLC programming, control systems, instrumentation, electrical hardware, and process automation solutions Maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring successful project execution from initial planning through final completion Travel occasionally to customer sites as needed (less than 5%) Required Skills (Must Have): 3-5+ years of Project Management experience within industrial automation, controls, or manufacturing environments Previous hands-on experience as an Automation Engineer or Controls Engineer (required) Strong understanding of industrial control systems including PLCs, distributed control systems (DCS), instrumentation, I/O, electrical panels, power distribution, and industrial hardware Experience managing industrial automation projects involving system integration and hardware delivery Previous experience supporting startups, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and commissioning activities Experience working with continuous process manufacturing environments (chemical, steel, plastics, food processing, etc.) Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or another Engineering discipline Strong organizational, communication, budgeting, scheduling, and project planning skills Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously Preferred Skills (Nice to Have): PMP Certification DeltaV Distributed Control System (DCS) experience Experience with discrete manufacturing environments Experience leading large capital automation projects Customer-facing project leadership experience across multiple manufacturing industries #ID9515
