The role of the Project Manager is to oversee construction projects from pre-construction planning through to completion. Success will be measured by the incumbent's effective and efficient management of cost, quality and timely completion of projects. The scope of a Project Manager's work varies based on a variety of factors.
Essential Duties of the Project Manager role include but are not limited to:
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with clients, vendors, regulatory agencies and all other project stakeholders.
  • Prepare project schedule(s) and drive project to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Manage execution of contracts, change orders and other legal and project-related documents.
  • Negotiates and manages cost proposals.
  • Perform financial analysis of project (cost-to-complete).
  • Prepares monthly job status reports to communicate to senior management.
  • Manage CPM schedule updates.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal, State, Local and other regulations as they pertain to assigned project(s).
  • Prepare reports, projections and related documents.
  • Meet regularly with management and provide comprehensive project status updates.
  • Direct the work of and provide support to project Superintendent(s), Project Engineer(s), Field Administrator, and other staff associated with project.
  • May perform other duties as required.

To be successful in this role, a qualified candidate will:
  • Seven plus years of experience as a Project Manager.
  • Experience in public works projects preferred. Preference is given to those with experience in educational facilities (K-12, community colleges, and/or universities).
  • Bachelor degree, preferably construction or engineering related.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills. Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with Primavera Scheduling software a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, a plus.
  • Ability to work with all types of personalities.
