Job description

SitelogIQ serves state and local governments, K-12 schools, and higher education institutions, executing energy savings projects across energy management control systems, building and street lighting, water efficiency, HVAC, and renewable power.

Our Senior Project Manager will work out of our South Business Unit, particularly located in the Mid-South or Mississippi valley regions including the following metropolitan areas: Memphis TN, Birmingham AL, and Baton Rouge LA. They will oversee and execute multi-million-dollar commercial construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.ย  Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations, this critical leadership role will require significant experience in managing complex projects and leading construction management teams in an autonomous working environment.ย ย ย 

This role will include at least 50% travel to project sites.

Senior Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Execution:
    • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale commercial projects, including mechanical upgrades, HVAC retrofits, roof replacements, lighting upgrades, building controls, and building envelope improvements.
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Leadership & Team Management:
    • Manage and mentor project teams, including engineers, subcontractors, and onsite supervisors.
    • Foster strong communication and collaboration between all stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project goals.
    • Provide leadership to resolve conflicts and challenges, ensuring smooth project delivery.
  • Budget Management:
    • Oversee project budgets ranging from $10M to $20M, monitoring expenses and controlling costs.
    • Approve and track change orders, invoices, and other financial documents.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring transparency and maintaining strong relationships.
    • Prepare and present regular progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, risks, and solutions.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
    • Perform quality checks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to specifications and industry best practices.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Management:
    • Evaluate and select subcontractors, negotiate contracts, and manage their performance.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Problem Solving:
    • Anticipate potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Resolve unforeseen issues quickly, minimizing impact on project timelines or budgets.

Senior Project Manager Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field strongly preferred (or comparable 10 years experience in role).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial construction project management.
    • Proven track record managing large projects ($5Mโ€“$20M) with a scope including HVAC systems, mechanical upgrades, building envelopes, and related areas.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project).
    • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC, roofing, lighting, building controls, and energy-efficient technologies.
    • Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and construction standards.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure.
  • Certifications:
    • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.
