Job description

The American Glass Company is looking for a dependable, organized, and motivated Project Manager to help manage our growing residential and commercial glass business.

Our Work Includes:

Residential

  • Custom shower doors and enclosures

  • Residential glass

  • Replacement and new windows

Commercial

  • Aluminum storefront systems

  • Commercial glass and glazing

  • Storefront doors and entrances

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of projects and keep them moving from the initial sale or contract through measuring, ordering, scheduling, installation, and completion.

This is a hands-on project management position. We need someone who communicates well, stays organized, follows through, solves problems, and takes responsibility for getting jobs completed correctly and keeping our customers informed.

Compensation:

$57, 200 yearly


Responsibilities:

The Project Manager will manage multiple residential and commercial projects at different stages.

Residential Projects

For residential shower door, glass, and window projects, responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing sold jobs and understanding exactly what the customer purchased

  • Communicating directly with homeowners and customers

  • Coordinating field measurements

  • Making sure measurements and specifications are complete before materials are ordered

  • Ordering shower glass, hardware, windows, and other materials

  • Tracking orders and expected delivery dates

  • Scheduling installations with customers and our installers

  • Making sure installers have the correct materials and information before going to the job

  • Communicating delays or schedule changes with customers

  • Handling questions and issues that come up during installation

  • Coordinating service calls and punch-list items

  • Making sure completed jobs are properly closed out

Customer service is extremely important on the residential side. We expect our Project Manager to communicate professionally and make sure customers know what is happening with their project.

Commercial Projects

For commercial storefront and glazing projects, responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing proposals, contracts, plans, specifications, and shop drawings

  • Understanding our complete scope of work

  • Communicating with general contractors, superintendents, suppliers, and our field crews

  • Coordinating project schedules and installation dates

  • Ordering and tracking storefront aluminum, glass, doors, hardware, and related materials

  • Coordinating field measurements when required

  • Handling shop drawings and submittals

  • Preparing and tracking RFIs when information or clarification is needed

  • Identifying changes in scope and making sure additional work is documented

  • Assisting with change orders

  • Coordinating installers and making sure crews have what they need before arriving on site

  • Keeping projects moving and following up with GCs when information is needed

  • Monitoring project costs and helping keep jobs profitable

  • Coordinating punch-list work and project closeout


Qualifications:

Glass industry experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider the right person with construction project management experience.

Experience with any of the following would be a major plus:

  • Shower doors and shower enclosures

  • Residential windows

  • Residential glass

  • Commercial storefront systems

  • Aluminum entrances and doors

  • Commercial glass and glazing

  • Reading construction drawings
