Job description

Objective:

The purpose of the Project Planner position is to support multiple AutomationDirect teams with process support throughout the life cycle of our product lines.  The primary process is the introduction of new products.  This position serves as a cross-functional servant leader and bridge-builder within the team and across the value chain. Must be detail-oriented, a self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and able to make decisions in the best interest of our customers and AutomationDirect.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates, manages, and enhances the project schedules for new product introductions, product price changes, product changes, product obsolescence, etc. via collaboration with the AutomationDirect Product Management Team and other teams
  • Communicates the status of all ongoing projects to the company by producing and providing frequent product launch announcements. This includes posting launch details to our Intranet and launch status reports to the company.
  • Works with the FUEL Process Group, FUEL Product Management Team and other teams to implement change management strategies to determine optimal project progress, impact to critical path and launch/go-live date.
  • Independently develops, manages and enhances team specific & companywide procedures and flow charts after analyzing and identifying constraints, challenges and inefficiencies. Works to optimize FUEL Process, FUEL Product Management team and the Value Chain's efficiencies via process improvements, best practices dissemination and workflow automation.
  • Administers and enhances process improvements and problem resolution throughout the life cycle of the product, along with supporting activities/procedures, after gathering input from the Process Team, FUEL Team and the other teams
  • Supports Product Management Team with processing execution of contracts. Works within the Process Group to report statistics and supplier contract metrics to the Management Team.
  • Will be responsible for other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Requires an Associate or Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or a technical field.5 year of related experience in lieu of degree.
  • Requires 3+ years hands-on project management experience with new product introduction OR product development.
  • Requires 1+ years leading new product introduction working with cross-functional project teams.
  • Requires strong problem-solving skills.
  • Requires intermediate-level experience with various software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or web-based project management software is required.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining procedures is required.
  • Experience with document management software is desirable.
  • Experience with SalesForce is desirable.
  • Experience creating and maintaining process flow charts is desirable.
