PROJECT MANAGER
This is a fully remote position.
PURPOSE
As a Project Manager within Ascend Enterprise Solution, you will lead medium-to-large technology projects using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies. You will collaborate with business leaders, technical teams, and clients to ensure successful project delivery, effective communication, and alignment with business objectives.
This role requires strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills to manage project execution, coordinate cross-functional teams, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO. The ideal candidate will have experience managing multiple concurrent projects and working within both Agile and traditional delivery environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Execution & Delivery
  • Lead technology projects from initiation through completion using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate project resources and activities across multiple internal teams.
  • Track project progress, identify risks, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Support project financial tracking, forecasting, and budget management.
  • Facilitate project meetings, sprint ceremonies, status updates, and stakeholder communications.
  • Ensure projects remain aligned with scope, timelines, and client expectations.
  • Assist in documenting lessons learned and identifying opportunities for process improvement.

Agile & Process Support
  • Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies (e.g., Refinement Meetings, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives).
  • Serve as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach to enable Agile best practices across teams.
  • Work closely with Solution Architects to define, prioritize, and refine backlogs for iterative delivery.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and self-organization within Agile teams.
  • Track Agile team performance metrics, ensuring iterative delivery and continuous value creation.
  • Execute Waterfall & Hybrid Project Management
  • Develop full-scale project plans, including scope, milestones, risk assessments, and deliverables.
  • Define project tasks, dependencies, and resource requirements while ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Manage project budgets, financial forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Plan, schedule, and track project timelines using Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid methodologies as appropriate.

Stakeholder & Team Coordination
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, and technical teams.
  • Coordinate with internal functional groups including Network, Operations, Cybersecurity, and Service Delivery teams.
  • Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and key milestones to stakeholders.
  • Assist with resolving project roadblocks and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support governance and compliance requirements throughout project execution.

Team Development & Collaboration
  • Share project management best practices with peers and junior team members.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and continuous learning culture within the PMO.
  • Support onboarding and mentoring efforts for newer project managers when appropriate.

MINIMUM SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
  • 6 years of experience in IT project management.
  • Experience managing projects using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, or Lean principles.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional technical teams.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing project schedules, risks, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, Jira, or Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

PREFERRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
  • Exposure to Agile transformation or PMO process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience supporting cloud or infrastructure-related projects.
  • PMP Certification (Preferred).
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or PMI-ACP Certification (Preferred).
  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) (Preferred).

Starting Compensation Range: $95,000 per year
The salary for this position is commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications. The range is intended to reflect our commitment to attracting top talent, and the final offer will be based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's previous experience, expertise in the field, relevant certifications, and the specific requirements of the role. In addition, internal equity, market trends, and geographic location may also influence the final salary.
