Senior Project Manager with PMP Certification (LOCALS to VA ONLY)

Location: Richmond, VA

Duration: 11-12 months

Description:

The contractor will provide program management for the Product Application Modernization Project which will include:

- Provide leadership and project direction to ensure successful implementation;

- Coordinate project activities across operations, technical and financial teams;

- Prepare executive status reports and facilitate weekly status meetings with key stakeholders;

- Manage project scope, quality assurance, communication and risks                  

- Create project charters (defining business problem, scope, KPIs, and target outcomes) and detailed project plans

- Effectively manage on-time completion of project milestones, and adhere to relevant change control processes

- Manage concurrent projects involving cross-functional project teams with members from IT, business operations, process engineering, program management office, and product development

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are required, with emphasis on manipulation (and analysis) of data

- Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint are required, with emphasis executive presentations

- Solid understanding of Microsoft Project for effective project management.

- Data quality / data validation techniques to ensure information published or presented is accurate

- Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills are required

- Experience building business cases with financial value and cost data

- Effective communication skills, with experience presenting to vice-president and director levels

- Effective organization and time management skills are required

- Ability to appropriately manage resources, budgets, issues, and risks for the successful completion of projects.

Bachelor's degree in a related field and Project Management Professional certification is required (PMP, PgMP, PMI-PBA, PMI-ACP). Minimum of seven (7) years of project management experience required.
