Job description

PURPOSE

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver complex IT and technology initiatives across applications, business systems and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

This role requires strong coordination between technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead and manage end-to-end project delivery for IT and technology initiatives.
  • Define project scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, infrastructure, application support, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and third-party service providers to ensure timely and quality delivery.
  • Track project progress and proactively manage risks, dependencies, issues, and vendor deliverables.
  • Facilitate project planning meetings, status updates, and stakeholder communications.
  • Ensure alignment between business requirements and technical implementation.
  • Oversee vendor performance, deliverables, and adherence to project timelines and SLAs.
  • Manage project documentation, reporting, and governance processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project management practices and delivery processes.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIESProven experience as a Project Manager delivering IT projects, with 7 years of experience leading end to end initiatives.

  • Experience managing and coordinating external vendors, system integrators, or technology partners.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid).
  • Experience coordinating technical teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships, contracts, and project deliverables.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated use of AI &/or automation capabilities to enable better management of projects, deliverables and communication

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in financial services, fintech, or high-availability environments.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, or equivalent certification is an asset.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or similar platforms.

ASSETS

  • French language skills would be an additional asset.

WORK EXPECTATIONS

  • Preference would be given to candidates based on Eastern time zones & ability to travel to Montreal office on a need basis.

This role requires regular communication in English with technology vendors, consultants, and external service providers located outside Quebec. The position also involves reviewing technical documentation, coordinating project deliverables, and working within project management and technology platforms that operate primarily in English. English proficiency is therefore required to manage projects, communicate with external partners, and ensure successful delivery of IT initiatives.
