Job description

Job Description

The IT Project Manager plays a critical role in driving the successful delivery of both Enterprise and Aramark Destinations line‑of‑business (LOB) technology initiatives across the Aramark Destinations portfolio. This role is responsible not only for leading complex projects, but also for helping institutionalize how technology solutions are scoped, sequenced, deployed, and brought to go‑live readiness through the development and adoption of a standardized IT delivery playbook.
Reporting to the LOB Director of Technology Portfolio & PMO, this individual partners closely with business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and key stakeholders to ensure systems and services are delivered with clarity, discipline, and consistency. The role is accountable for exceeding client expectations while adhering to budget and timeline commitments and enabling long‑term operational success. Success in this role requires a strong blend of project leadership, critical thinking, process discipline, and executive‑level communication.

Job Responsibilities

IT Delivery Playbook & Governance

  • Assist in the development, documentation, and continuous improvement of an IT delivery playbook that defines how systems and services are:
    • Scoped and justified
    • Designed and architected
    • Deployed and transitioned to operations
    • Supported post go‑live (including stabilization, ownership, and lifecycle management)
  • Establish repeatable standards, templates, and governance checkpoints that drive consistency, transparency, and predictability across IT projects.
  • Ensure alignment between project delivery practices and enterprise IT, security, financial, legal, and operational standards.

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead complex business systems projects that exceed client expectations while being delivered on time and within budget.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects of varying size, complexity, and risk across the portfolio.
  • Own project lifecycle management from inception and business case development through implementation, go‑live, and transition to support.
  • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and constraints; develop mitigation strategies to maintain forward momentum.

Mobilization & Transition Management

  • Lead end-to-end mobilization efforts for new business transitions, ensuring operational readiness across technology, infrastructure, and vendor ecosystems.
  • Develop and execute mobilization plans, aligning timelines, resources, and cross-functional teams (IT, Operations, Finance, HR, Legal, Supply Chain, etc.).
  • Establish governance and communication frameworks, including status reporting, risk tracking, and executive-level updates.
  • Coordinate system cutovers, data migrations, vendor transitions, and post-go-live stabilization to ensure seamless Day 1 readiness and continuity of operations.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with internal business leaders, IT partners, and external vendors to ensure effective management of all project phases.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across the Aramark operating portfolio.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively—both verbally and in writing—to audiences with varying technical and business backgrounds.
  • Facilitate alignment across stakeholders when priorities, scope, or constraints conflict.

Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with project stakeholders to resolve issues, remove roadblocks, and sustain momentum.
  • Identify opportunities for system and process consolidation to drive operational efficiency, reduce cost, and improve scalability.
  • Apply lessons learned to continuously improve delivery outcomes and organizational maturity.

Executive Reporting & Visibility

  • Develop and present clear, meaningful project status and health reporting for executive leadership.
  • Translate complex project and system information into actionable insights for decision-makers.
  • Provide concise updates on risks, financials, timelines, and outcomes to support informed governance decisions.

At Aramark, developing new skills and doing what it takes to get the job done make a positive impact for our employees and for our customers. In order to meet our commitments, job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience working as an IT Project Manager or in a comparable project delivery role.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise or LOB technology projects, with ownership of scope, sequencing, and go‑live readiness.
  • Strong knowledge of project management fundamentals across scope, schedule, budget, risk, and change management.
  • Experience delivering projects end‑to‑end, from intake and scoping through implementation and stabilization oversight.
  • Familiarity with hospitality and operational systems such as PMS, POS, CMMS, Payments, and Activity/fulfillment platforms preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and external project managers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present clearly to senior and executive stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, process‑oriented, and capable of driving outcomes in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.

Individual contributor with the potential to grow into future people leadership.
