Role Overview
Title: Project Coordinator, Partnerships & Projects
Hours: Full Time; Salaried
Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Hybrid)
Salary: $85,000-$95,000
Benefits Eligible: Yes
Manager: Senior Manager, Partnerships & Projects
Mission- Why We Need You
Geothermal energy is the most abundant renewable energy source in the world, yet it remains underdeveloped due to exploration risk, development complexity, and capital intensity. At Zanskar, we are accelerating geothermal development by combining technical excellence, disciplined execution, and strong strategic partnerships.
As we advance multiple geothermal exploration and development partnerships, we need a highly capable Project Coordinator who can help translate strategy into execution. This role sits at the center of cross-functional workstreams and external relationships, ensuring that partnership projects move forward efficiently, professionally, and with strong internal alignment.
This is not a passive administrative role. It is an execution-oriented, high-ownership position for someone who can operate confidently with leadership, engage effectively with vendors and partners, and proactively solve problems in a fast-moving startup environment.
Outcomes-Problems You'll Solve
In this role, you will help ensure that partnership projects
  • Stay organized, on schedule, and aligned across multiple internal teams
  • Have clear next steps, owners, timelines, and documented decisions
  • Are prepared for leadership reviews and external partner discussions
  • Maintain strong communication between Zanskar, consultants, and vendors
  • Anticipate risks early and proactively address bottlenecks
  • Operate with startup agility while maintaining professional rigor

You will help create structure where ambiguity exists, bring clarity to complex multi stakeholder efforts, and elevate the overall quality and polish of project execution
Responsibilities - What You'll Do
Project Management & Execution
  • Support partnership-led geothermal projects from early-stage evaluation through development readiness
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestone trackers, and action logs
  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams across Exploration, Drilling, Development, Permitting, Land, Finance, and external consultants
  • Track critical path items and escalate risks or delays proactively
  • Ensure deliverables are prepared on time and aligned before leadership or partner presentations
  • Facilitate recurring project meetings and ensure follow-through on action items
Leadership & External Engagement
  • Assist with representing the Partnerships & Projects team in meetings with vendors, consultants, and external partners
  • Prepare briefing materials and executive-ready summaries for leadership
  • Support due diligence processes and external reporting requests
  • Help structure and manage vendor scopes, contracts, and performance tracking
  • Maintain professionalism and credibility in front of senior stakeholders
Operational Infrastructure & Process Improvement
  • Help build and refine project management systems, templates, and workflows
  • Improve documentation standards and file organization across partnership projects
  • Support budgeting coordination, invoice tracking, and financial milestone visibility
  • Identify inefficiencies and propose practical, creative solutions
  • Step into undefined gaps and create structure where needed
Startup Agility
  • Take ownership of ambiguous tasks and drive them to completion
  • Operate comfortably in an evolving environment where priorities shift
  • Identify creative pathways to move projects forward when conventional approaches stall
  • Provide leverage to the Senior Manager by anticipating needs and reducing execution burden

Competencies -What We're Looking For
  • Strong project management fundamentals
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and external stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable preparing materials for executive-level audiences
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • High ownership mindset- sees gaps and fills them without being asked
  • Professional presence and confidence when interacting with leadership and vendors
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects without losing clarity
  • Structured thinker who can bring order to ambiguity
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment

Preferred Experience
  • Experience in energy, infrastructure, natural resources, or capital-intensive project environments
  • Familiarity with project budgeting and financial tracking
  • Experience working with consultants, engineering firms, or technical vendors
  • Experience supporting partnership or joint venture projects

What Makes This Role Unique
This role is ideal for someone who:
  • Wants meaningful responsibility in shaping how projects are executed
  • Enjoys being at the center of high-impact work
  • Can toggle between administrative rigor and strategic thinking
  • Is comfortable in rooms with senior leaders but also willing to dive into detailed coordination
  • Thrives in environments where processes are being built, not inherited

You will work closely with the Senior Manager of Partnerships & Projects and play a critical role in enabling geothermal exploration and development projects to move from concept to execution.
Benefits
  • Paid holidays
  • 18 days PTO, with accrual increases based on tenure
  • Medical and dental coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Stock options
  • Growth opportunities at a company directly advancing domestic geothermal energy and a carbon-free grid
