Job description

Position Summary

The Project Manager I is responsible for executing small to standard projects and may also support larger projects. This role is accountable for delivering projects safely, on time, within specifications, and within budget while following internal project management standards and best practices.

The Project Manager I is expected to uphold key principles in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity.

Safety

  • Comply with OSHA regulations
  • Identify potential safety concerns and take corrective action
  • Report safety violations through the appropriate chain of command

Quality

  • Ensure the quality of installations and project deliverables meets contractual requirements

Productivity

  • Follow internal project management procedures, systems, and best practices to ensure successful project delivery

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver small to standard projects on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Monitor project performance and financial objectives through project closeout
  • Maintain accurate and current project information in the internal ERP system in accordance with established procedures
  • Oversee day-to-day project activities
  • Help maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle
  • Process and track change orders in compliance with contractual requirements and internal procedures
  • Develop and maintain project plans and schedules according to internal project management standards
  • Lead and coordinate the project team, including kickoff meetings and other internal project meetings
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments to ensure tasks, milestones, and quality checkpoints are completed on time and according to project requirements
  • Review and manage technical calculations, specifications, and outstanding technical tasks to ensure project compliance
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain to support procurement and material coordination in accordance with internal procedures
  • Prepare and approve reception protocols and installation acceptance documentation
  • Schedule and oversee project startup activities
  • Prepare and submit project status reports to leadership and direct management

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven project management experience, or
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Process Engineer


Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of food, cosmetic, and/or pharmaceutical processing environments
  • Ability to read and interpret P& IDs, isometrics, layouts, 3D drawings, and functional descriptions
  • Ability to foster teamwork, collaboration, and accountability to achieve project goals
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other data entry/software tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing and walking required

Working Conditions

Work is generally performed under normal working conditions, with consideration for standard factors such as ventilation, lighting, and workplace organization.
