How you will create impact:
The Senior Software Developer will provide development support regarding the design, coding, testing, documentation, and the implementation of complex changes, relating to a variety of applications that support the Western World / Lexington businesses. In addition to working on development initiatives, the Software Developer will also be expected to be engaged on end user support, maintenance activities, vulnerability management, service improvement planning and ongoing SOX / IT Control support. The Senior Software Developer will work closely with other key IT Team Contacts (i.e. DBA Teams, IT Infrastructure, IAM, etc.), the Operations Team and with project leaders to ensure that all projects and deliverables are appropriately structured, developed according to the development standards and expectations are clearly managed. The Senior Software Developer will be responsible for the coordinating resources, ensuring clear and open planning and providing a core subject management expertise.
What you'll need to succeed:
  • Design, document, develop, and implement scalable, reliable and maintainable software products that meet the requirements of the business
  • Work closely with the development team to perform hands-on review of the code, and provide guidance for the team to incorporate best coding practices and standards
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and other development team members to deliver products, clarify objectives, provide reliable estimates, formulate detailed delivery plans, determine scope, drive consensus, identify problems and recommend solutions.
  • Establish strong relationships with other development team members and key business stakeholders.
  • Authoring developer friendly documentation in relation to Runbooks, deployment plans, systems architecture etc.
  • Ensure communication of technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Development and support of integration capabilities with other platforms, supporting the end-to-end processing of business.
  • Enforces security best practices in all aspect of the development lifecycle.
  • Working with the wider IT group to understand direction and other in-flight initiatives, facilitating a collaborative and shared understanding.
  • Provide end user support, ongoing maintenance to ensure service levels are maintained, with a focus on customer service and platform stability.
  • Ability to manage other software development resources and assist in IT planning exercises.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • 4+ years of experience in software development within the insurance industry
  • Proven technical proficiency in .Net, SQL Server, SSIS, JS, HTML, C#, Angular, Type Script
  • Experience with Dev-Ops practices and tools
  • Clear and confident communicator, ability to challenge and influence change at a strategic level.
  • Excellent experience with the development of software using a variety of frameworks, developing and consuming API's, building robust and scalable applications in a complex environment.
  • Team player, ability to work effectively in challenging and complex environments
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to understand complex concepts.
  • Customer focused with a desire to deliver excellent customer service to business stakeholders
  • Detailed level of understanding of Cloud platforms

The base salary range for this position in Parsippany or Jersey City, NJ, is $86,000 -$106,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. Your actual compensation will be dependent on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
