Job description

Job Summary

RCD Construction is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex heavy civil construction projects throughout all phases of construction. We are looking for a proven leader with 15+ years of experience managing earthwork, excavation, underground utilities, roadway, concrete, infrastructure, and site development projects. Experience managing aviation and airport construction projects is a plus.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for project planning, budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, cost control, subcontractor management, client relations, and successful project delivery while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple heavy civil construction projects from pre-construction through final completion.
  • Oversee earthwork, grading, excavation, underground utility, concrete, roadway, and municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and production goals.
  • Manage project costs, billing, change orders, and financial reporting.
  • Lead Project Engineers, Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Review plans, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Coordinate with owners, engineers, architects, municipalities, and government agencies.
  • Negotiate and manage subcontractor and supplier agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations, contract requirements, and quality standards.
  • Identify project risks and develop proactive solutions.
  • Participate in estimating, value engineering, procurement, and project planning.
  • Mentor and develop project management staff.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of Project Management experience in Heavy Civil Construction
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience managing DOT, municipal, public works, highway, underground utility, site development, concrete, and earthwork projects.
  • Aviation or airport construction experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling, estimating, cost control, and contract administration.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, or similar construction software preferred.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license.
