About the Job

The Customer Intelligence Development organization is looking for a Software Development Manager to lead the Customer Intelligence 360 Web & Mobile Team. Our team delivers cloud‑native SaaS capabilities that enable organizations to collect digital behavioral data, personalize customer experiences, and measure engagement across web and mobile channels.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a talented engineering team while helping shape the future of digital customer engagement. You will partner with engineers, architects, product managers, designers, and cloud operations to deliver innovative solutions while fostering modern engineering practices, AI-assisted development, and continuous improvement.

As a Software Development Manager, you will:
  • Organize, develop, prioritize, and assign resources to deliver high-quality, testable, and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.
  • Lead development project designs and enforce technical standards across web, mobile, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Collaborate with software developers, architects, designers, product managers, and cloud operations teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Manage project scope, priorities, schedules, and delivery commitments while communicating risks and progress to stakeholders.
  • Maintain accountability for the full software lifecycle, including development, deployment, operational excellence, and support of SaaS in production.
  • Provide technical leadership through mentoring, coaching, talent development, and fostering a culture of innovation and engineering excellence.
  • Lead adoption of modern engineering practices, including cloud-native architectures, DevOps, AI-assisted engineering tools, and responsible AI-driven innovation.
  • Be encouraged to participate in open source projects on behalf of SAS.
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in software development, software engineering, software testing, or enterprise software delivery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience leading software development projects, engineering teams, technical initiatives, or software delivery organizations.
  • Experience developing, delivering, and operating cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications.
  • Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native architectures, microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems.
  • Experience working with Agile software delivery practices and modern software development methodologies.
  • Experience collaborating across engineering, product management, user experience, and operational teams.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
