Job Description

The Project Manager is responsible for managing, planning, scheduling, communicating, facilitating, monitoring, controlling and reporting project related tasks to ensure timely implementation.  Primary areas of focus for this position will include digital omni-channel initiatives and medium to large scale banking operational and technical projects from inception through deployment, and in accordance with Project Management Office standards and procedures.  

Responsibilities include managing cross-functional teams and delivering approved projects on time, within budget, and with quality results. The Project Manager will facilitate the creation of the project's objectives and artifacts while overseeing the quality control process throughout the project life cycle.  This role will further support process enhancements in areas including information security, process improvement, project planning, resource planning and allocation, disaster recovery, and mergers and acquisitions.


Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning
   Planning, organizing, and monitoring, United Bank projects and initiatives; managing cross-functional (matrixed) teams, responsible for delivering the approved projects on time, within budget, and with quality results.
   Develop, facilitate, track and maintain project artifacts including but not limited to project plans, business analysis, scope documents, project goals and deliverables, testing plans, project budgets and training materials.
   Provide detailed progress reports against plan to include quality metrics and management level dashboards, minutes and status reports.
   Adhere to, manage and ensure regulatory guidelines and standards are being followed and addressed through the project scope and lifecycle.
   Mentor, coach and manage project teams throughout the project lifecycle, to promote enterprise level thinking, accountability and the development of win-win solutions.
   Troubleshoot issues, determine solutions, track and manage issues and facilitate lessons learned discussions.
   Schedule and lead various project related meetings including project and status meetings.
Lead the project resource planning process and create reports that clearly communicate resource gaps, needs, and/or issues. 

Operational Management
   Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
   Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. 
   Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
   Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
   Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
   Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify risks, and devise contingency plans.
   Oversee staff assigned to project work through the use of Project Management Best Practices and internal United Bank guidelines while utilizing formal and informal communication methods to; define goals and objectives, provide and allow for open communication, assist with the development of project materials and the successful implementation of projects.

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

   A minimum of (3) three years of project management experience in running/facilitating multiple project/product releases concurrently in a dynamic setting.
   Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent work experience
   CAPM and/or PMP certification is desired, however, not essential
   Prior banking experience in Operations, Information Technology and/or Information Security a plus.
   Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as presentation skills.
   Demonstrated experience, judgment and leadership to execute diverse projects (i.e., balancing competing demands for: project scope, time, cost, risk and quality).
   Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
   Understanding of project management, functional and performance testing practices, change management and supporting processes.
   Strong organizational, time and task management skills.
   Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
   Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
   Ability to adapt and play different roles on different projects based on project needs.
   Proficiency utilizing MS Office tools (Excel, Access, Microsoft Project), PowerPoint.
   Demonstrate ability to effectively manage project demands, collaborate with assigned team and build relationships with all levels of stakeholders.
   Ability to be flexible in working hours as business needs arise. 


Essential Functions:
   Ability to travel approximately 10%..
   Sitting for extended periods of time.
   Sufficient dexterity of hands and fingers to efficiently operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components.
   Moderate physical activity (lifting, carrying, etc.).
