Job description

Job Title: General Manager

Location: Palm Springs, CA

Position Summary

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing the overall operations, profitability, and strategic growth of a commercial gate, door, and access control service company. This role leads all departments including service, installation, sales, and administrative functions to ensure operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. The GM will drive business development, optimize processes, and build a high-performing team to support service, maintenance, retrofit, and new construction projects.


Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management
  • Oversee daily operations across service, installation, and project teams

  • Ensure efficient scheduling, dispatching, and completion of jobs

  • Monitor job performance, labor utilization, and service quality

  • Implement and improve operational processes, systems, and KPIs

Financial Performance
  • Manage P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control

  • Drive revenue growth while maintaining profitability targets

  • Review job costing, margins, and pricing strategies

  • Approve major expenditures and resource allocations

Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop department managers and staff

  • Build a strong culture of accountability, safety, and performance

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of leadership experience in commercial door, gate, access control, or related construction/service industry

  • Strong understanding of service operations, installation, and project management

  • Proven experience managing P&L and driving financial performance

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of low-voltage systems, automated gates, doors, and access control systems preferred

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
