Job description

PROJECT MANAGER - CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION

$175,000 - $250,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package

We have been retained by one of the San Francisco Bay Area's most established and respected commercial construction organizations to identify a Project Manager for an important role within its concrete operations.

The company has a long-standing presence in Northern California, an exceptional reputation with many of the region's leading owners, architects and construction partners and the financial strength, resources and project portfolio of a major construction organization.

This particular opportunity, however, has a more entrepreneurial role organizationally. The company is investing in the continued growth of its concrete and self-perform capabilities and is looking for someone who can contribute beyond the traditional boundaries of project management. This person will manage work, but will also help build the business.

The Project Manager will have responsibility for the planning, financial management and execution of concrete construction projects throughout the Bay Area while working closely with field leadership, estimating, estimating, preconstruction and senior management.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead concrete projects from initial estimating, preconstruction and buyout through field execution, closeout and final financial performance
  • Partner closely with Superintendents and field leadership around manpower, sequencing, production, schedule and constructability
  • Maintain accountability for project financials including forecasting, cost control, change management, productivity and overall profitability
  • Develop relationships with general contractors, owners, designers, trade partners and other key decision-makers throughout the Bay Area

Desired Experience:

  • 5+ years of progressive concrete construction experience who has developed through positions such as:

Project Engineer → Assistant Project Manager → Project Manager

  • Candidates should have meaningful experience with commercial concrete construction and an understanding of the operational and financial components required to successfully execute the work.
  • Experience with some combination of structural concrete, foundations, elevated concrete, slabs, vertical structures and complex commercial construction would be valuable.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline is preferred, although relevant industry experience will be considered.

We are conducting this search confidentially and welcome conversations with individuals who are not actively looking but are interested in understanding what the next level of their career could look like.
