Area Planning Manager (Industrial Construction – LNG Projects)

Position Overview

Dagen is recruiting an experienced Area Planning Manager for our LNG client in Cameron, LA to lead planning, scheduling, and advanced work packaging (AWP) efforts for a large-scale industrial construction project. This role is responsible for driving safe, efficient, and well-coordinated execution across multiple scopes of work while supporting overall project delivery.

The position reports directly to the Director of Planning and Scheduling and is based full-time on-site in Cameron, Louisiana.

Relocation assistance will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain planning and advanced work packaging (AWP) processes and procedures.
  • Establish and quantify construction and commissioning performance targets.
  • Create and maintain integrated project plans and schedules aligned with overall execution strategy.
  • Lead reviews of contractor execution plans and schedules, including resource planning and sequencing.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to contractor planning teams.
  • Monitor contractor progress, productivity, and adherence to project schedules.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to address schedule disruptions.
  • Build and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and graphical summaries to communicate project status.
  • Present detailed planning and execution updates to internal stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Collaborate closely with project management, contractors, and stakeholders to support timely decision-making.
  • Support materials management, commissioning, and start-up planning activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Proven experience working on-site in industrial construction environments.
  • Proficiency with NavisWorks or similar 3D modeling and work packaging tools.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, or similar data and reporting tools is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Proven ability to summarize complex information and communicate it clearly to stakeholders.

Work Environment

  • Full-time, on-site role located in Cameron, Louisiana.
