Job description

Horner amp; Shifrin is seeking a full-time Transportation Project Manager. This position requires 10+ years of experience. This position is responsible for managing projects, leading project teams and team members, developing engineering solutions, and delivering a thorough and comprehensive end product. Additional responsibilities include interactions with clients, development of relationships, and tracking of potential projects.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Licensed professional engineer in Illinois
  • Interact and communicate with clients, vendors and staff of all levels
  • Ability to lead, manage and schedule staff to meet project needs
  • Track multiple projects simultaneously to keep jobs on schedule and under budget
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Products (e. g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience using at least one CADD platform (MicroStation or AutoCAD)
  • Knowledge of at least one highway design package (e.g. OpenRoads, Geopak, or Civil3D)
  • Critical thinking and analysis
  • Perform transportation engineering analyses and calculations
  • Prepare and write engineering and other reports
  • Coordinate and write responses to project solicitations
  • Maintain and develop strong client relationships
  • Develop business in the Illinois region
  • Field visits on rough terrain per project needs
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive to and from job sites
  • Other duties as assigned
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience working directly with the Illinois Department of Transportation and local municipalities
  • Existing business development relationships
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
SALARY RANGE:
