Job description

Ranked in the Top 25 General Contractors, CMC is responsible for over $80 million in construction in a variety of projects in Texas.


The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, financial performance, and successful delivery of construction projects from turnover through closeout. The PM leads communication between the owner, design team, subcontractors, vendors, and internal CMC departments while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to CMC quality standards.


Responsibilities include:


Project Planning & Coordination

  • Manage all phases of construction projects from turnover through final completion.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, estimates, and schedules.
  • Participate in project handoff meetings with Preconstruction and Operations teams.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings and maintain meeting documentation.
  • Ensure all project documentation is current, accurate, and properly distributed.

Financial Management

  • Develop and maintain project budgets and cost forecasts.
  • Monitor project financial performance 
  • Prepare and manage owner pay applications.
  • Review and approve subcontractor pay applications.
  • Manage project change orders and cost impacts.
  • Conduct regular financial reviews with leadership.

Schedule Management

  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules.
  • Coordinate procurement activities and long-lead material tracking.
  • Identify schedule risks and implement recovery plans when necessary.
  • Coordinate subcontractor sequencing and project logistics to maintain production goals.
  • Ensure milestone dates and project completion deadlines are achieved.

Procurement & Contract Administration

  • Support subcontractor buyout and scope review processes.
  • Review subcontract agreements and ensure scope alignment.
  • Issue and track contracts, purchase orders, and change orders.

Safety & Quality

  • Promote and support CMC’s safety culture and Goal Zero initiatives.
  • Ensure project teams comply with OSHA requirements and company safety policies.
  • Coordinate with the Safety Department regarding audits, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in quality control inspections and ensure work complies with project documents and CMC standards.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers.
  • Collaborate closely with Superintendents to align field and office operations.
  • Foster teamwork, accountability, and professional development among project staff.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal departments.

Project Closeout

  • Manage punch list completion and final project turnover.
  • Ensure all closeout documentation is completed
  • Coordinate final inspections, owner turnover, and project closeout activities.
  • Ensure final billing and subcontractor closeout are completed in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • BS Construction Management or equivalent construction management experience.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the respective industry
  • Personal commitment to Safety philosophy that all accidents are preventable.
  • Strong communication skills to achieve project alignment with internal and external organizations including engineering, subcontractors and client representatives.
  • Experience and understanding of CII best practices
  • Working knowledge of planning and scheduling processes
  • Minimum 10 years of Construction Management experience
