DEPARTMENT SUMMARY
We are looking for a Project Engineer Lead who brings their leadership and experience to our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the team can successfully complete assigned projects and requires a passion for leadership and mentorship. This Lead Engineer takes on a high degree of responsibility within a team and will serve as a technical expert, be the primary point of contact to resolve customer issues, pursue proactive resolutions to issues at every stage of the project, implement risk mitigation strategies, and encourage and support less experienced engineers in their professional development.
ROLES & RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Manage a team of engineers to execute project scopes.
  • Manage engineering projects to produce technical deliverables with fixed cost and schedule constraints.
  • Monitors and reports project financial performance.
  • Communicate directly with customers to establish detailed requirements and deliverables, provide project status, and discuss risks.
  • Direct and participate in engineering activities, including design, engineering reviews, and work order preparation.
  • Responsible for assuring the team has materials organized and ready for manufacturing, including monitoring purchasing activities.
  • Interact frequently with shop floor to ensure project health; may have daily presence on shop floor.
  • Identify process improvement areas.
  • Assure all team members have a complete understanding of all quality requirements for projects.
  • Manage project scope and is responsible for the execution of the team's work.
  • Perform risk assessments, frequently encourages less experienced engineers to identify improvement areas.
  • Shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3)
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, material science or a related technical field is required.
  • All positions required at least a high school diploma/GED.
  • 5+ years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Commercial/military aerospace experience is preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership experience.
  • An understanding of material properties and testing.
  • Experience with research, data analysis, and problem solving.
  • Must have a strong working technical knowledge of composite materials.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and CNC tools is highly desired
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.

DETAILED WAGE INFORMATION
  • Salary range for this role is between $95,000 - $145,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off shifts. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
  • Off-Shift Differential of $12,000 Annually Applies for Swing and Weekend Shift.
