Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Principal Project Manager/ Sr. Principal Project Manager - Level 3 or Level 4 to join our team in Bacchus or Promontory, UT.

The Principal Project Manager Level 3 or a Senior Principal Project Manager Level 4 will be responsible for cost and schedule across diverse projects within Tooling, Facilities and Maintenance Engineering. This role requires a strong background in project management, engineering, and construction. With a focus on executing our strategic plan within a portfolio of complex projects in accordance with safety and quality standards. The successful candidates will coordinate with multiple stakeholders, manage project timelines, and ensure seamless integration of new equipment into existing operations.

In this job, you will:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget forecasts, for a portfolio of diverse projects.
  • Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, production, and procurement teams to ensure alignment of project objectives and timelines
  • Identify project milestones, critical paths, and potential risks, and develop contingency plans to address them.
  • Facilitate regular meetings and communications to keep all parties informed of project progress, changes and issues.
  • Oversee the installation process from start to finish, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards and project timelines.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented throughout the project.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts and present them to senior management as needed.
  • Approve invoices, change orders, and other project related financial documents.
  • Conduct Post Project Reviews with all parties to document lessons learned and provide continuous improvements for future projects.
  • Proactively identify potential project risks and issues and develop strategies to mitigate or resolve them.
  • Implement corrective actions as necessary to keep the project on track.
  • Executing large Capital projects in a manufacturing environment and driving project teams to achieve milestones.
  • Other duties as assigned

This position's standard work schedule is 4/10 or a 9/80, allowing employees who work nine-hour days Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

This position can be filled at either a Level 3 or Level 4.

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 3 years of professional experience - OR - PhD with 1 year of professional experience.
  • No clearance required to start
  • 3 years of experience in Project Management methodologies and tools, including Gantt charts, project management software systems and risk management

Basic Qualifications for Level 4:

  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 6 years of professional experience - OR - PhD with 4 years of professional experience.
  • No clearance required to start
  • 5 years of experience in Project Management methodologies and tools, including Gantt charts, project management software systems and risk management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP or other relevant project management certification is preferred.
  • Experience with large-scale equipment installations in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for equipment installation in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with presentations to leadership, executives
  • Facilities or construction project experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $122,000.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $101,400.00 - $152,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
