 smartdept. is searching for a Project Manager for a packaging company located in Kansas City, MO. The ideal candidate will come with 5+ years of project management experience, preferably with 1+ year of industry-specific experience. This is a full-time, on-site direct-hire opportunity.
The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating all internal and third-party resources required to ensure flawless execution of each project. This role acts as a liaison between customers and internal departments including operations, design, and shipping to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget and scope. The Project Manager will also support and promote current and future business opportunities and work closely with production to stay informed on machine specifications and design requirements.What You'll Do:
  • Develop detailed project plans to track progress of projects
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Process and monitor the progress of orders
  • Generate non-conforming reports for the quality manager
  • Report and escalate obstacles or concerns
  • Establish and maintain client and stakeholder relationships
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Coordinate daily operations schedules
  • Mentor junior Project Managers
  • Ensure clear communication between departments and the production plant
  • Develop estimates and coordinate proof approvals, draw-downs, press checks, and design changes
  • Communicate proactively with customers via email and phone and respond professionally to inquiries
  • Identify additional opportunities to build more sales revenue within existing accounts
  • Manage project progression through web-based software (WebCenter)
What You'll Need:
Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • 1+ year of industry-specific experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
