TRAFFIC MANAGER

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TRAFFIC MANAGER

As a Traffic Manager, you spend your day performing advanced supervisory maintenance and oversee the activities and operations of the Traffic Division which performs duties pertaining to maintenance and construction of all city traffic control devices. Work involves assisting with coordinating special events; coordinating and developing departmental projects; communicating with outside agencies. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. When you are not out in the city, you generally motivate and evaluate department staff, and provide training and development. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in traffic and streets division, and you finding genuine enjoyment in what you do!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A STREETS MANAGER

  • Associate's degree.
    • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in related fields.
  • Requires five (5) years of related work experience with at least three of those years including supervisory experience.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Must have a current valid class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Level II Traffic Signal Technician Certificate
  • Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred.
