Our Program Managers partner with engineers who build secure, end‑to‑end solutions. Description

Apple Services Engineering is searching for an experienced manager to lead a team of program managers driving programs in the Apple Services Engineering architecture space. You will play a central role in driving the strategy and execution of programs that shape how Apple operates at scale. This is a hands‑on leadership position where you’ll own scope, timelines, and cross‑functional execution while building the next generation of program management leaders at Apple.

Responsibilities
  • Hire, develop, and coach high‑performing engineering program managers
  • Build a culture of excellence where team members grow and do their best work
  • Foster mentorship that develops both early‑career and experienced professionals
  • Program Execution:
  • Own end‑to‑end delivery of multiple concurrent programs across complex software stacks
  • Manage scope, requirements, timelines, and prioritization with competing stakeholder demands
  • Establish checkpoints, track progress, and communicate status with transparency and clarity
  • Cross‑Functional Leadership:
  • Drive collaboration across engineering, design, operations, and other disciplines to develop roadmaps
  • Influence without direct authority—building consensus and trust across organizational boundaries
  • Identify risks proactively, develop mitigations, and re‑plan with agility as conditions change
  • Champion process improvements that scale how we build products across Apple Services Engineering organization
Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years of program management, product management, systems engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years managing a team of technical program/project managers
  • Excellent project management skills to drive schedules, dependencies, critical path and risks
  • Solid technical understanding of and experience in large‑scale distributed software systems, cloud architecture, development and deployment, and bonus points for past development experience
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams
  • Experience with release planning and SDLC methodologies
  • Familiarity with system reliability engineering (SRE) process and deliverables
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical field or at least 5+ years of comparable experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong relationship management and facilitation skills both within diverse engineering teams and cross functional organizations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to convey information in a clear, concise and credible manner
  • Ability to partner with product and engineering teams to translate user needs into actionable requirements.
  • Strong facilitation skills (requirements sessions, design meetings, progress and status meetings)
  • Experience in talent development, succession planning, and organizational design
  • Experience building feature and technical roadmaps
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to balance short‑term urgency with long‑term organizational strategy
  • Ability to identify gaps in solutions, debate approaches, and weigh in on tradeoffs
  • Familiarity with open‑source software development processes

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $174,200 and $303,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You’ll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
