Job Overview:
The Project Management Intern will support project management and engineering activities, assisting in the successful execution of multiple projects while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a fast‑paced environment. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates seeking to build foundational skills in project engineering and project coordination. This internship is a part-time, paid position (20 hours per week) with a maximum duration of 90 days.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination
•Assist in planning, coordinating, and managing project activities from inception to completion.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and construction, to ensure project goals are met.
•Prepare, update, and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
•Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and project proposals.
•Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that arise during project execution.
•Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, team members, and vendors, to ensure alignment on project objectives.
•Help ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
•Participate in site visits to monitor progress, verify quality standards, and identify risks or issues.
•Assist in managing a portfolio of projects in various stages of execution.
Project Documentation & Deliverables
•Document project information using MS Excel and other record keeping platforms.
•Prepare Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals using established templates.
•Assist in preparing project binders and closeout documentation.
•Support the development of automated project management tools for time and cost tracking.
•Assist in preparing packing slips for project freight documentation.
Project Delivery and Evaluation
•Support efforts to ensure all project deliverables meet scope, quality, and timeline requirements.
•Monitor and track project progress, recommending adjustments as needed.
•Participate in post-project evaluations to identify project evaluations to identify successes, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
Process Improvement
•Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes and tools.
•Recommend and help implement best practices to enhance efficiency and performance.
Qualifications:
•Pursuing or recently completed bachelor's degree in mechanical, Civil, Industrial, or Construction Engineering (or related field).
•Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving solving skills.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Word and PowerPoint.
•Ability to understand basic calculations such as price schedule breakdowns.
•Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced paced environment.
