Description

SN is honored to support GGLO in their search for an Interior Designer to join their firm. GGLO is an award-winning, multidisciplinary design practice specializing in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and urban design. Since 1986, we have created transformative, contextually responsive places that enrich communities across North America. With studios in Seattle and Boise, we operate as one collaborative practice, bringing diverse perspectives together to create thoughtful, integrated design.

We are seeking a full-time Interior Designer to join our multidisciplinary team. This is an opportunity to design meaningful environments while collaborating with talented interior designers, architects, landscape architects, and urban designers on a diverse portfolio of projects.

Success in this role is supported by curiosity, flexibility, and a passion for creating exceptional spaces. You bring strong design, visualization, and technical skills; take ownership of your work; communicate with clarity; embrace feedback; and thrive in a collaborative environment. You are energized by solving complex design challenges with creativity, rigor, and attention to detail, while contributing to a culture of trust, learning, and shared success.

Working alongside design leadership and project managers, you will contribute to every phase of the design process—from concept through construction and FF&E implementation. You will transform ideas into coordinated, buildable solutions through drawings, renderings, models, material selections, FF&E packages, graphic presentations, and construction documentation, ensuring design excellence from vision to execution.

What You Will Do

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Advance interior design concepts and produce coordinated drawings, models, and documentation across all project phases.
  • Prepare design deliverables that align with design intent, project scope, established standards, and technical requirements.
  • Develop interior details and construction documentation with guidance from project leadership, accurately incorporating mark-ups and revisions.
  • Research finish systems, materials, fixtures, furniture, and product selections to support design decisions.
  • Conduct code, accessibility, and regulatory research to inform interior design solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, fabricators, product vendors, contractors, and clients to support project delivery and maintain design intent throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate interior design elements with architectural and engineering systems.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, design reviews, and presentations.
  • Support construction-phase activities under the guidance of project leadership, including site visits, submittal reviews, responses to RFIs, and documentation coordination.
  • Serve as Interior Designer on small projects with oversight from project leadership.
  • Travel to project sites and occasional domestic travel may be required, including walking active construction sites and navigating varying terrain.

What You Will Bring

  • Strong design, visualization, and technical skills.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite or Affinity, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
  • A demonstration of conceptual design thinking, clear design narratives, and an ability to advance ideas into thoughtful, buildable solutions.
  • Proficiency in finish material selection, specification, and documentation.
  • Ability to produce accurate, coordinated construction documentation.
  • Understanding of building systems, materials, interior detailing, building codes, accessibility requirements, and construction practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Sound judgment, adaptability, initiative, accountability, and problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Communicates clearly, adapts effectively in complex or evolving situations, and actively collaborates with team members across disciplines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–7 years of professional experience in commercial interior design or interior architecture.
  • Experience in multifamily, hospitality, food and beverage, and/or amenity-driven commercial projects.
  • Experience preparing construction documents and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with FF&E selection, specifications, and procurement.
  • NCIDQ certification or progress toward certification is preferred.
  • LEED AP, WELL AP, or other sustainability credentials are a plus.

Benefits

GGLO offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, financial well-being, professional growth, and overall experience at work. Employer-sponsored medical, dental, and vision coverage is provided up to 100% for employees, along with life and disability insurance, an FSA, commuter benefits, a retirement plan with discretionary match, a transit subsidy, a minimum of two weeks of vacation, and nine paid holidays.

You will work from our award-winning, self-designed studio in downtown Seattle—a workplace designed to the highest standards of sustainability, wellness, and inclusivity using LEED and WELL Building principles. The studio is designed to support collaboration, neurodiversity, and an equitable workplace experience. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team in a collaborative studio environment, with flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.
