We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to support one of our strategic clients in the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences industry based in South San Francisco, CA. This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-impact projects in a highly regulated environment while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver business-critical initiatives.


Position Overview

Operating within the client's Project Management Methodology (PMM) framework, the Project Manager will lead project execution from initiation through delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives, budget, schedule, quality, and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project governance, oversee resource planning, and ensure successful organizational adoption of new solutions. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and experience managing complex projects within a regulated environment.

This position requires daily on-site presence in South San Francisco.


Key Responsibilities

Project Governance & Planning

  • Lead project initiation activities, including defining project vision, scope, objectives, success metrics, and stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Develop and maintain project charters and governance documentation within ServiceNow.
  • Ensure projects align with strategic business priorities and organizational objectives.

Project Scheduling & Execution

  • Develop, maintain, and baseline integrated project schedules using ServiceNow Planning Console or equivalent project management tools.
  • Manage project milestones, dependencies, critical paths, and schedule performance.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively mitigate schedule risks.

Resource & Financial Management

  • Develop and maintain resource plans, including FTE forecasting and allocation.
  • Coordinate with resource managers to secure appropriate staffing.
  • Monitor project budgets, CAPEX expenditures, and cost performance to ensure alignment with approved financial plans.

Risk, Issue & Change Management

  • Manage project RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies).
  • Drive timely resolution of project issues while maintaining appropriate governance.
  • Lead formal change control processes related to scope, schedule, budget, and quality baselines.

Organizational Change Management

  • Partner with business stakeholders to drive successful solution adoption.
  • Coordinate user engagement, communication, training, and readiness activities.
  • Ensure smooth transition of completed projects into operational support.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Facilitate project team meetings, steering committee reviews, and executive status updates.
  • Produce clear, concise project health reports for leadership.
  • Escalate risks and decision points appropriately through governance channels.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience delivering cross-functional projects.
  • Strong knowledge of formal Project Management methodologies (PMI, PMM, IPMA, or equivalent).
  • Experience using ServiceNow Project Portfolio Management (PPM) or similar enterprise project management platforms.
  • Proven experience managing project schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and governance.
  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working within regulated industries.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, PMI, or IPMA certification.
  • Experience supporting Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device, or Life Sciences organizations.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Planning Console, Monday.com, or similar collaboration platforms.
  • Knowledge of Organizational Change Management (OCM) principles.
  • Experience managing Building, Campus, Infrastructure, or Capital Construction projects is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with GxP environments and quality or regulatory compliance is a plus.
