About the Role

As a Senior Architectural Project Manager at Z Modular, you will play a critical role in leading architectural projects from design through construction while serving as the primary connection between internal teams, external consultants, manufacturing operations, and construction stakeholders. This position requires strong project management expertise, architectural knowledge, and the ability to successfully coordinate complex multidisciplinary projects, offering the opportunity to directly impact the execution of innovative modular construction solutions.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, manufacturing teams, and construction professionals to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and aligned with quality and business objectives. This is a hybrid role located in Austin, TX; Chandler, AZ; or Troy, MI.

What You'll Do

  • Leads architectural projects through schematic design, design development, construction documentation, fabrication, and construction phases.
  • Manages project schedules, budgets, key milestones, and project deliverables to ensure successful execution.
  • Coordinates multidisciplinary teams, including architecture, structural, MEP, manufacturing, and construction stakeholders.
  • Facilitates project meetings and communicates project updates, risks, and progress to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensures projects remain aligned with scope, schedule, quality standards, and business objectives.
  • Manages and coordinates Architects of Record, Engineers of Record, and specialty consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Reviews consultant deliverables to ensure quality, schedule compliance, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between Z Modular and external design partners.
  • Leads construction administration activities during fabrication and field installation phases.
  • Reviews and responds to RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, field reports, and design clarifications.
  • Coordinates design solutions with field teams, consultants, and manufacturing personnel to support project execution.
  • Oversees internal teams responsible for shop drawings and production-ready documentation for volumetric modular construction.
  • Ensures design packages are coordinated, constructible, and aligned with manufacturing requirements.
  • Supports the transition from design intent documentation to fabrication-ready deliverables.
  • Directs and coordinates architectural designers, drafters, and project team members across multiple active projects.

Who You Are

  • 12+ years of experience in architecture, project management, design-build, commercial construction, modular construction, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Licensed Architect preferred.
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, and complex project schedules.
  • Experience coordinating Architects of Record, Engineers of Record, and specialty consultants throughout project lifecycles.
  • Strong knowledge of construction administration, construction documentation, and project delivery processes.
  • Familiarity with modular construction, prefabrication, and manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Strong understanding of architectural design principles, building systems, construction methods, and applicable building codes.
  • Working knowledge of Revit and construction documentation practices.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and scheduling skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
