Job description

Description Bring your creativity to WCTC and help shape how our College connects with students, employees, and the community. We're looking for a talented Graphic Designer who is ready to turn ideas into engaging visuals that make an impact. Develop, design and produce both print/digital and branded marketing/informational materials that promote the College to a variety of audiences.

Provide creative support and design in the development of the College's visual brand and design standards. Work requires a high degree of creativity, technical skills, analytical thought and self-motivation in a fast-paced environment. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This position description should not be interpreted as all inclusive.

It is intended to identify the major responsibilities and requirements of the job. The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated on this description. Collaborate with director, assistant director, team and/or various departments to brainstorm, develop and edit a variety of collateral materials, pieces, promotions or campaigns, including designs for print and digital.

Develop design concepts and direction for marketing, recruitment and internal and/or external campaigns and promotions marketing with a strong understanding of typography, font selection and layout; expertise in color theory and effective use of color. Conceptualize and design layouts within the WCTC brand for catalogs, direct mail, digital marketing and internal institutional materials; incorporate feedback and necessary revisions to achieve the desired aesthetic in conjunction with institutional brand guidelines. Maintain in-depth knowledge and support of design software, including all Adobe Creative Cloud (emphases in Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator), providing support to others in the department and beyond when needed.

Maintain and modify design and collateral library of online digital design template platform; collaborate with license holders campus-wide to meet template needs. Modify designs, photos and other visuals for different platforms including print, digital, social media, etc. Collaborate with copywriters, project managers, other departments to ensure designs meet project goals and align with brand guidelines under the direction of the Assistant Director - Marketing.

Prepare projects for print or publication by utilizing industry best practices for pre-flight, bleeds, color correction and accessibility prior to release for production. Manage the design, layout and send of the College's enewsletter and other digital communications to internal and external stakeholders in partnership with other marketing team members. Support the development, modification or updates to brand guidelines as set by the Lead Graphic Designer.

Maintain current professional and technical knowledge in the field through professional education and activities. Keep up to date with the latest software, design trends, techniques and technologies. Incorporate innovation, inspiration and other cutting-edge ideas to maintain high quality brand recognition.

Minimum Qualifications REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Proven knowledge of and creative skill in graphic design, including advanced understanding of layout, color theory and typography, to express marketing messaging clearly and effectively High technical knowledge, and proven comprehensive application, of current Adobe CC software Proficient knowledge of digital marketing platforms, especially CRM, CMS, and email marketing systems a plus Ability to manage time, organize and prioritize work. Ability to work independently, as part of a team and/or with minimal supervision. Attention to detail, completing and maintaining a high level of accuracy Effective interpersonal communication skills in speaking, writing and listening.

Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external contacts. Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from clients about project. Ability to train, coach and provide relevant project feedback to co-workers EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing or a related field preferred OR Associated degree in graphic design, marketing or related field combined with equivalent years of work experience.
