As the Fiber Construction Project Manager at Socket Fiber, you will be responsible for the oversight of specific fiber network construction projects in defined key market areas including the Memphis area. This is a crucial role that requires hands-on project management to ensure our network expansion is executed efficiently, safely, and on budget.
Responsibilities
  • Drive construction projects to completion within defined priorities, scope, schedules, and budgets.
  • Lead projects through the full lifecycle: design, estimating, procurement, construction, and closeout.
  • Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Manage timelines and constraints with clear, consistent communication to all stakeholders.
  • Provide regular schedule and project status updates.
  • Identify and manage project risks-including schedule impacts, scope gaps, weather delays, material shortages, equipment issues, and manpower needs-and develop mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate proactively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Champion company safety initiatives and model a commitment to an injury-free workplace.
  • Conduct on-site visits to identify issues and support real-time problem-solving.

Requirements
  • 4+ years experience working in a construction, construction project manager position, OR or general leadership experience
  • Proven expertise in managing large-scale construction projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, project management methodologies, and best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant software and tools for project management and construction oversight.
  • A strong commitment to safety and compliance.
