Job description

**Ideally, the role is intended to be based in Little Rock, AR. However, we are also open to considering candidates from all Entergy locations that are in close proximity to Arkansas. This includes areas such as North Louisiana and North Mississippi.**

**The selected candidate for this role will be placed as a Project Manager, Sr Lead or Project Manager, Sr Staff based on education, experience, and demonstrated success at the Project Manger level** 

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Support Entergy Economic Development by serving as the technical lead, proactively advancing reliability strategy and outage investigation responses for Entergy’s industrial customer base. Works closely with the Operating Company Industrial Account teams to build and maintain effective long-term customer relationships by providing a high level of service reliability and customer satisfaction.

Position will collaborate with various internal organizations to develop, optimize and implement capital projects that are targeted at improving overall reliability for managed transmission and distribution customers.  Position must maintain strong relationships with supporting workgroups at the system and local level, including, but not limited to, Power Delivery Operations, Relay Field Operations Support, Transmission Planning, Distribution Planning and Distribution Engineering.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead internal reliability teams to engage SME’s and develop innovative solutions to address complex power quality and outage events.
  • Collect data and supporting documentation, prepare presentation materials, deliver findings and support Entergy Industrial Account Executives (IAE) in customer meetings following unplanned Entergy system outage and/or power quality events. Collect action items during customer meetings and provide pertinent follow up information. 
  • Support customer “ride through” improvement initiatives.
  • Support customer power factor improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate responses for customer “Requests for Information” (RFI) to provide cost, scope and schedule requirements for reliability upgrades.
  • Interface with Transmission & Distribution Planning, Finance, Engineering, Maintenance, Project Management and Construction to prioritize, budget and execute customer reliability improvements.
  • Maintain historic power quality and reliability data for Entergy facilities that serve managed customer accounts.
  • Provide reliability history/data for quarterly and/or annual customer reviews on an as needed basis.
  • Support IAEs as needed to assess the impact of planned outages on customer facilities.
  • Support IAEs to resolve customer meter/communication issues.
  • Provide system wide expertise and support required to develop senior level Engineers and Project Managers within the workgroup.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field OR 4 years of equivalent/related work experience (in addition to Minimum Experience requirement) in lieu of degree.
    • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
    • Preferred: Advanced Degree (Masters in Engineering, Construction, Project Management).

Minimum Experience

  • Project Manager, Sr Lead: 6+ years of experience in Project Management, Construction Management, Electric Utility Industry, or related field.
  • Project Manager, Sr Staff: 8 years of experience in Project Management, Construction Management, Electric Utility Industry, or related field.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Expert in project and construction management fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology to transmission lines and substations.
  • History of safe performance, active safety involvement and participation and strong desire for a safer workplace.
  • Supervisory Experience with direct reports or in a matrix organization preferred.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and project management applications, processes, software and equipment.
  • Understanding of Industry Best Practices.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional project leadership experience, team performance skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor.
  • Knowledge of Effective Estimating Practices.
