The Project Manager is responsible for the leadership and successful execution of a project from inception (job launch) to completion (final customer acceptance) within a defined budget, work scope and schedule. The Project Manager motivates and leads their team(s) to jointly reach all project goals, while increasing profitability and securing repeat business with customers.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead domestic and international projects through all milestone phases pre-launch through project closure while inspiring confidence in the team and management
  • Facilitate relationship between external and internal customers, strengthening relationships through the life of the project by providing exemplary customer service and communication
  • Determine a project budget after collaboration with the team, Sales and Engineering, and manage projects to achieve or exceed profit expectations
  • Collaborate with the team as a strategic partner to address any issues that could affect project financials, meet regularly with team to monitor project progress and budget limits, coordinate with the team to monitor, document, and continuously manage project risks and opportunities and document and drive action/recovery plans as required
  • Construct project timelines, monitor and manage those timelines to achieve all delivery milestones
  • Organize project meetings, issue minutes, track and report project progress with team members and follow up on action items
  • Facilitate the team in reviewing milestones, examining potential operational issues/risks, outlining and proposing solutions and identifying actions
  • Establish and maintain long-term, positive working relationships with internal team members, customers and suppliers; serve as a liaison between internal management and project team members
  • Direct engineers in the successful delivery of technical projects, while managing several projects simultaneously
  • Assist in achieving strategic objectives by aligning resources with goals and pursuing opportunities that meet the department’s objectives
  • Follow all company policies and procedures diligently and effectively

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business discipline
  • 3-5 years’ Project Management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Project Management Professional certification
  • Experience with the use of Microsoft Office programs, such as Project, Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, Power-point, OneNote, etc.
  • Ability to maintain data within current ERP system
  • 2-4 years working knowledge of manufacturing type contracts, preferably in the machine tool or automation industry
  • 2-4 years working knowledge of equipment, process, and commonly used design practices for Automation, Test and Assembly, Filtration
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls and software engineering terms and principles
