Job Description
Southern Company Gas is seeking a Creative/Digital Project Manager to join our Brand Creative Team. The Creative/Digital Project Manager will work closely with designers, developers and internal business partners within Corporate Communications. This position will gather requirements, manage production and ensure accurate delivery of internal client requests and is expected to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of communication, print and digital assets and brand collateral.
This position will be expected to comply with the company's flex work schedule of four days in office, one day remote.
The Creative/Digital Project Manager will focus primarily on graphic design and digital website requests and must exhibit outstanding project management and client communication skills in achieving the highest possible standards in client service. The Creative/Digital Project Manager must have a strong knowledge of both the print production process as well as digital assets requirements. An understanding of design principles, processes and tools (Adobe Creative Suite and AEM) is helpful. Additionally, the Creative/Digital Project Manager will be expected to keep our project management tool (SharePoint & Monday.com) up to date daily. Being detail oriented and super organized with a positive 'can do' attitude is a must.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees activities in managing workflow, project planning and reviews of all creative services and digital webpage requests for the Southern Company Gas family of brands including Atlanta Gas Light, Chattanooga Gas, Nicor Gas and Virginia Natural Gas
  • Develops and maintains solid client relationships across the enterprise; encourages a collaborative approach with departmental team members
  • Negotiates timelines and budgets, and ensures that all deadlines are maintained
  • Reviews client change requests and responds with schedule/cost impacts along with alternatives
  • Recommends effective solutions to minimize client/company costs
  • Collaborates on creative development and direction with client, design and production teams
  • Manages expectations with clients and departmental teams.
  • Represents the interests of the client in interactions with project teams
  • Ensures all brand guidelines are followed on their assigned projects
  • Leverages knowledge and understanding of graphic design to facilitate effective communication between client and departmental teams.
  • Work with outside vendors (agency partners, printers) effectively.
  • Participate in Corporate Communication department meetings and serve on work teams as requested.

Skills and Knowledge Required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in design, marketing, communication, advertising or business
  • Minimum of 5 years professional-level experience in a project management role
  • Agency or corporate creative team project management experience required including web/digital and design projects; photo and video are a plus
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of the creative process
  • Operates effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Resourceful and solution-oriented
  • Displays professionalism and has excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent creative project management skills, highly organized and able to multitask effectively
  • Ability to gain client trust and effectively manage client expectations
  • An understanding of natural gas/utility industry is a plus
  • Successful track record at client service in a marketing or creative environment
