Position Overview:
Direct all phases of construction, seeing that contractor performs work according to the best interest of the Company. Responsible for the safety and progress of construction activity and personnel.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Draw and sketch installation and location of equipment, such as amplifiers, power supplies and cable.
  • Obtain all permits, easements, etc. as required.
  • Prepare material orders for construction.
  • Direct personnel, materials and equipment to given locations within the system.
  • Inspect pole installations to insure compliance with work specifications.
  • Log work completed and prepare progress reports as required.
  • Provide information as directed, about problems or potential problems, which might impede progress.
  • Travel to and inspects regularly the progress and quality of construction projects performed by system personnel.
  • Monitor compliance with terms and conditions of construction contracts with outside firms.
  • Review invoices from contracting firms, as well as monitoring progress, performance, quality and timeliness of construction and proper utilization of Mediacom materials.
  • Perform interviewing, hiring, monitoring, evaluating and disciplining of field personnel.
  • Implement quality control checks and monitor safety practices.
  • Develop and maintain good relations with utilities, general public and governmental agencies.
  • Maintain, through inventory procedures, required equipment and material levels by effective planning, ordering and conservation of physical resources, to ensure optimum plant operations.
  • Act as a liaison between other departments.
  • Perform quality control inspections on all field personnel on a regular basis to assure quality and recommend additional training as needed.
  • Climb ladders, towers or other structures as needed. Carries and lifts loads of up to 100 pounds; uses bucket truck when required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Position Requirements:
  • 2-3 years cable construction experience, including progressive supervisor experience required.
  • Ability to read and utilize system maps and plans.
  • Knowledge of construction, electrical codes (related state and local codes) and safety precautions.
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record, required.
  • ACAD experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office experience preferred (Excel-Word-Outlook).
  • Procurement experience preferred.
