Overview
Position Description
We are hiring an Operations Finance Manager. The Operations Finance Manager is a critical finance business partner to Operations leadership, providing financial guidance, strategic insights, and operational support to drive business performance. This role is responsible for leading financial planning and analysis activities for manufacturing operations, including forecasting, budgeting, month-end close, variance analysis, capital planning, and performance reporting.
The Operations Finance Manager will oversee the financial support of manufacturing and operational functions while managing and developing finance staff. This position partners closely with Plant Leadership, Supply Chain, Operations, Accounting, and Corporate FP&A to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective decision-making, and achievement of operational and financial objectives. The role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing operations, cost accounting, inventory management, and operational drivers to proactively identify risks and opportunities, improve profitability, strengthen financial controls, and drive continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the monthly financial close process for manufacturing operations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of results.
  • Manage the annual Budget and monthly outlooks for Operations.
  • Analyze manufacturing variances, labor utilization, overhead absorption, inventory performance, and operational spending, providing actionable insights and monthly commentary.
  • Partner with Plant Leadership to understand resource requirements, production plans, capacity utilization, and cost drivers.
  • Maintain and improve financial models, dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting tools.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities and recommend corrective actions to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on financial processes, reporting automation, systems optimization, and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Corporate FP&A teams to ensure alignment of financial objectives and reporting requirements.
  • Support strategic initiatives, business cases, cost reduction programs, and operational improvement projects.
  • Manage SAP support enhancements to financial systems and reporting capabilities.
  • Lead and develop finance team members through coaching, performance management, mentoring, and career development.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Required Skills/Education:
  • MBA/Masters degree in Accounting with CPA, and Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 8-10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
  • 3-5 years supporting manufacturing, operations, or supply chain organizations.
  • Plant Controller equivalent manufacturing finance leadership role strongly preferred.
  • Experience using ERP system.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft office: Excel, PowerPoint Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to speak and read English.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with internal customers in a professional manner.

Salary and Benefits:
  • For California, the base salary range for this position is $107,442 - $152,053. Compensation for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience, location, etc.).
