The Project Manager will oversee the end-to-end development process including initiation, planning, design, permitting and execution of renovation and upgrade of existing hospitality projects in The Alaska Collection. That includes food & beverage outlets, hotels, and attractions. This role involves coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, National Park Service, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires frequent travel to our projectsโ€™ sites in Denali, Talkeetna, Seward and other Alaska locations. Role will be based in Anchorage.

  • Perform due diligence on proposed projects in the initiation phase and collaborate with internal stakeholders for corporate approvals
  • Create and manage Request for Proposals (RFP) for design teams and contractors
  • Oversee project planning, including scope, budget, timelines, and resource allocation
  • Lead and coordinate project teams, ensuring smooth collaboration with architects, engineers, and contractors
  • Manage budgets effectively, control costs, and present regular financial reports to senior management
  • Track project schedules, monitor progress, and adjust as needed to meet deadlines
  • Ensure quality standards by conducting site inspections and resolving issues promptly
  • Identify and mitigate risks, proactively addressing challenges
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all internal & external project-related communications
  • Oversee procurement, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and national park regulations, including health and safety standards
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFACTIONS
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in project management (design & construction) in the built environment, residential, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design or a related field.
  • PMP certification is an asset.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects in the design and construction from inception to completion.
  • Familiarity with the end-to-end development projects process.
  • Experience with Budget & Schedule management.
  • Experience working with projects in National Parks is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and regulations.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Smart Sheet, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset.
  • Work closely with the project coordinator in terms of template updates and reporting.
