Job description

Position Summary

Wallace Electric Company is currently seeking a Commercial & Industrial Electrical Project Manager for our Data Centers clients. The PM is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing electrical construction projects from conception through completion. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact between clients, field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal leadership. The PM must have at least five years of experience, managing all phases of a Data Center project(s).

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
  • Coordinate all phases of project execution, including procurement, installation, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Review electrical plans, specifications, and bid documents to ensure accurate scope and pricing.
  • Manage change orders, RFIs (Request for Information), submittals, and project documentation.

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Direct and support field supervisors, electricians, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor workforce productivity and ensure work is completed according to drawings, codes, and company standards.
  • Conduct regular project meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of safety and enforce compliance with company and regulatory safety requirements.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, engineers, general contractors, and vendors.
  • Provide project updates, resolve issues, and ensure high-quality customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships to support repeat business and long-term partnerships.

Financial Management

  • Oversee project cost controls, monitor budgets, and track labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses.
  • Evaluate job performance, forecast financial impacts, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Approve invoices, purchase orders, and project expenditures.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure work complies with NEC standards, local codes, and project specifications.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify safety, quality, and progress.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, and project close-out documentation.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of experience managing commercial or industrial electrical construction projects, and at least 5 years of experience specializing in Data Center projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction processes, and industry codes.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to visit job sites.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license (not required but highly beneficial).
  • Experience working with large-scale industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, hospitals, or commercial buildings.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent training.
