Job description

We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Process Technician to join a leading Company located in the Kenosha, WI surrounding area.

The Plastic Blow Molding Process Technician will be based at the Kenosha plant, but will also provide blow mold technician assistance to all locations in the US when needed. The manager is expected to establish and maintain a training program for producing a quality product, and help other technicians to understand and perform their jobs in a proficient and successful process. The Corporate Process Manager reports to the Plant Manager with a dotted line to the Dir. of Operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Improving the quality, equipment, cycle time, and energy usage of blow molding machines.
  • Calculating material consumption.
  • Setting up parameters for all products (IBC and drums).
  • Administrative and reporting tasks as needed related to blow molding.
  • Directing plant policies and procedures for production of correct blow molding techniques.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
  • Training new blow mold operators and technicians in proper troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical techniques in the blow molding departments, including both hands-on and classroom technical training (see below).
  • Providing continuous mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and processing technical support for all blow molding technicians and operators via onsite visits and offsite support (i.e. phone calls).
  • Helping out with plant projects related to upgrading the software on blow mold machines, tooling on blow mold machines, installing new blow mold machines, etc.
  • Ensuring all sites maintain an accurate spare parts register by verifying all necessary parts for the blow molding departments.
  • Reporting any issues which may impact production to all necessary people within the company to ensure mandatory production targets are still met.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Training program:
    • Design and provide a training program and manual for all current and new process technicians for all blow mold/injection mold machines.
    • Develop a team from current process technicians in company locations and evaluate abilities and experience.
    • Provide training and review courses to increase trainees to meet the expectations required to be able to efficiently run their machines in all locations.
    • Training should include use and knowledge of SPS controls S5 and S7.
    • Teach the fundamentals and training to be proficient in downtime analysis and scrap reduction.
    • Provide training on the automation of equipment, not limited to deflashers, etc.
    • Provide training on Blow Mold technicalities: Blow pin stands, blow molds, tooling, automatic weight control, automatic wall thickness control, heater systems, and fault analysis.
    • Interviewing and hiring of qualified Process Technicians.
