The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of todays and tomorrow's power grid! The Electrification & Automation business unit covers the entire spectrum for power distribution systems and solutions as well as products for protection technology, station automation, telecontrol technology, power quality, smart communication and microgrids.
Siemens Solutions Production organization is looking for a Project Manager (PM) to join our team in EA. This position will be initially based near a Siemens Partner facility in Prince George, VA USA. After 3-4 years, this position will be open for hybrid/remote role.
You'll make an impact by:
As a PM, you will be responsible for the successful execution of projects, from project initiation through final closeout. You will work in a matrix style organization requiring excellent coordination skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. The PM role comes with ample opportunities for growth, reflective of Siemens' mission to empower people with a growth mindset.
  • Direct all phases of the internal contract management project from inception through completion.
  • Manage the cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance of the assigned strategic internal project.
  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Lead and drive multi-disciplinary and cross functional teams, including engineering, operations, vendor management, logistics and services to ensure successful project execution.
  • Provide regular updates to internal Siemens team, management, and PMO on work performed and overall status of all projects at Siemens contract management facility.
  • Identify project problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
  • Proactive Risk identification and Mitigation.
  • Communicate updates to design and scope across the project cycle and act as the intermediary between Siemens program and contract management for medium voltage solutions.
  • Direct diagnostics with the ability to determine root cause and corrective actions.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
  • 6+ years of experience in the power distribution industry managing medium voltage portfolios.
  • 6+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office and specifically Microsoft Project
  • 1+ year of working with multi-disciplinary teams, including program management, services, engineering, operations, and logistics
  • Must have a valid US Driver's License
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Factory /Order management experience is a plus for initial phase of this role.
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Project management or engineering internship or related work experience in Power distribution industry.
  • Project management or engineering internship or related work experience in manufacturing and /or production environment.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of power distribution; ability to read and understand basic electrical drawings and customer specifications.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturing
  • Experience in identifying and implementing cost savings measures within project
  • Experience with technology knowledge transfer process
  • Commitment to develop, drive, and manage projects in a highly competitive market
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to present complex issues to multi-level audiences and effectively communicate progress, status and issues to internal and external Customers
  • Ability to interpret and report results to senior management as well as customer
  • Demonstrated ability in contract and change management across multiple departments and teams.
  • Experience and certification with Lean manufacturing processes
  • PMP certification is required within 1 year of employment

The pay range for this position is $109,670 - $188,006 annually with a target incentive of 15% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
