The Opportunity

Det-Tronics is looking for a highly skilled Project Manager. In this role you will manage the technical, schedule, and financial aspects of assigned custom engineered customer order projects and large or complicated equipment orders. You will also provide ongoing key customer program management and ensure that customer requirements are met while managing the business aspects of the project. And, you will report on project results and status to the management staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Order Project Management
  • Perform the role of primary customer contact. Coordinate communications on all significant project issues.
  • Define work to be accomplished for assigned projects. Organize this information and distribute to the project team.
  • Provide guidance and direction to the project team to achieve customer expectations, project cost, schedule and technical goals.
  • Establish priorities within the project. Manage resource conflicts through prioritization with other Project Managers or management staff.
  • Develop and monitor the project schedules. Provide corrective action decisions and direction as required at any time the assigned project team or others fail to meet the project schedule requirements.
  • Monitors and maintains project margins. Negotiate/quote project change orders when required.
  • Review and ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Maintain project management record files for assigned projects.
  • Process project order entry. Ensure project value is in the correct financial period.
  • Provide continued customer support throughout the warranty period as stipulated in the contract.
  • Provide support of the Credit Department in reconciling billed and unbilled trade receivables, where appropriate.
  • Upon request, be involved in the scope review and final issue resolution when attempting to close the sale for high probability or major sales proposals. Will manage those projects upon award.
  • Facilitate post project reviews to report results and initiate process improvement and enhanced procedures.
  • Perform the role of primary customer contact. Coordinate communications on all significant issues affecting the customer.
  • Manage corporate activity to meet customer expectations.
  • Initiate corrective action or prioritization when required.
  • Report periodically on customer program status to senior management or all affected.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in business or technical field or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Project Management, Project Engineering, Customer Service, and/or Proposal Engineering.
  • Requires good team management, planning, organizational, time management and communications skills. Ability to work quickly and accurately and handle multiple projects.
  • Experience with DEC products and system integration practices or related industry considered a plus.
