What You'll Do

As a Vegetation Management professional, you will play a key role in maintaining safe and reliable utility infrastructure while protecting natural resources.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting vegetation inspections and assessments along utility rights-of-way
  • Identifying tree and brush management needs and recommending treatment plans
  • Supporting Integrated Vegetation Management (IVM) and environmental projects
  • Using GIS mapping and mobile technology to collect and document field data
  • Evaluating terrain, habitat, and environmental conditions in project areas
  • Collaborating with planners, project managers, and field crews to implement vegetation solutions
  • Helping utilities maintain compliance, reliability, and public safety
What We're Looking For

We’re seeking motivated professionals who enjoy fieldwork, problem-solving, and continuous learning.

Required:

  • Passion for working outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions
  • Ability to read and interpret GIS maps and spatial data
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable using mobile technology
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to operate a 4x4 vehicle and travel within the service area
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn local tree species identification and growth patterns

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Utility vegetation management or right-of-way experience
  • Professional certifications such as:
    • ISA Certified Arborist®
    • Registered Professional Forester (RPF)
    • Pesticide or herbicide applicator license (if required by state)

Leadership experience and a desire for career advancement are strongly encouraged.
