Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Manufacturing Estimator to support our service shop operations in Spokane, WA. This role is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, defining practical manufacturing and repair solutions, and supporting coordination between Sales, Engineering, and Workshop execution.
The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate quoting, cost control, and successful project execution, while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and on-time delivery in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Estimation & Proposal Support
    • Develop accurate labor, material, and outsourcing cost estimates during the proposal phase.
    • Support estimate revalidation and cost tracking during execution.
    • Ensure alignment with project scope, budgets, and timelines.
  • Technical Review & Scope Development
    • Review specifications, drawings, and quality requirements to define scope and develop manufacturable solutions.
    • Ensure estimates reflect accurate methods, risks, and execution strategies.
  • Supplier Coordination
    • Collaborate with suppliers to define scopes of work and obtain quotations.
    • Support supplier selection based on cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Customer Communication
    • Interface with customers during the quoting and execution phases, addressing technical and commercial inquiries.
    • Provide updates and clarification to support customer satisfaction and alignment.
  • Project & Execution Support
    • Partner with Sales, Engineering, and Shop teams to support planning and execution of complex service and repair work.
    • Identify risks and cost drivers early to support successful job execution.
  • Documentation & Cost Tracking
    • Maintain accurate records of estimates, assumptions, supplier inputs, and revisions.
    • Support post-job reviews to improve future estimating accuracy.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy, cycle time, and cost competitiveness.
    • Contribute to standardization of estimating processes and best practices.
  • Maintenance & Capital Support
    • Assist with cost evaluations related to maintenance activities and capital investment initiatives.
  • Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)
    • Promote and support a strong safety culture in all aspects of estimating, planning, and shop operations.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field preferred.

Experience
  • Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, machining, or service shop environment.
  • Prior experience in estimating, quoting, procurement, or technical project support
  • strongly preferred.
