Job description

Position Type: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Schedule: Regular hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Location: On-Site, Torrington, CT
Salary Range: $52,000-$62,000 a year, based on qualifications and experience
The Finance Associate plays a key role in supporting the organization's financial operations.
This position assists with accounting, payroll, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with nonprofit policies. The Finance Associate collaborates with the Finance Director and other team members to support audits, financial analysis, and day-to-day fiscal management
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card receipts, and general ledger entries
  • Reconcile with Development team monthly
  • Support the Finance Director in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Process employee expense reimbursements, vendor invoices, and payment requests in a timely and accurate manner
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Help prepare for annual audits by organizing and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Alternate with HR Manager on payroll processing and benefit distributions
  • Maintain an organized system for financial documents for easy access and compliance
  • Contribute to budget preparation and financial analysis to support organizational decision making.
  • Adhere to all agency policies and procedures
  • Participate in training, professional development opportunities, and meetings as requested
  • Other duties as assigned to further the mission of the agency

Qualifications:
  • BS in Accounting and/or such as may have been gained through college courses and relevant training, employment or volunteer experience
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office platform, QuickBooks Online, and ADP payroll software
  • Experience with audits, grant reporting, or fund accounting is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial and personnel information with confidentiality
  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule as needed to support audits and other financial deadlines
  • Use of positive communications and proactive conflict resolution
  • Ability to work with other agencies, systems, board and volunteers
  • Ability to understand and incorporate the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence into work
  • Is an ambassador for Susan B. Anthony Project; participate in events, programs and other promotion of awareness and advocacy.
  • Ability to participate as a member of a team to enhance agency communication and operation
  • Ability to lift and move 25 pounds
