As an Estimator Intern, you'll jump right into action working alongside our estimating team to support real projects and make a visible impact. You'll take on quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, bid preparation, and project documentation while learning the tools and techniques that drive winning proposals. Primary/ Key Responsibilities
  • Request material and subcontractor quotes
  • Run Agtek earthwork software for takeoffs
  • Use bid-opportunity platforms to identify available projects
  • Utilize HCSS to price projects once all required information is gathered download project document.
  • Set up projects once awarded
  • Assist estimators with preparing quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine scope requirements
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
  • Gather subcontractor and supplier pricing for bids
  • Support the preparation of bid proposals, spreadsheets, and cost breakdowns
  • Maintain organized estimate files, logs, and documentation
  • Assist with analyzing historical cost data and updating internal databases
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure accurate project information.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; college coursework in construction, engineering, or related fields preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read or willingness to learn to read construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
