Markade Plumbing seeks a committed and detail-oriented Estimator to support the successful preconstruction process of estimating and bidding new projects across various commercial and industrial construction sectors. This position demands basic knowledge of the construction process, the ability to learn to read plans, and proficiency in utilizing computer software, particularly project management and estimation platforms like Bluebeam take off and plan grid, along with other construction-related applications. Strong communication skills and a passion for collaborating with teams that prioritize quality, safety, and efficiency are essential. Their work is the foundation on which each project's financial performance is built, so it is imperative that their work production has clarity and a high degree of accuracy and detail. To achieve this the estimator must have a strong desire and ability to learn the construction process specifically related to the plumbing trade.

Key Responsibilities

Job Overview:

· As an Estimator at Markade Plumbing, you will assist in creating estimates for construction projects, focusing on plumbing systems.

· Create lead opportunities and folders in our estimation software system.

· Perform detailed take-offs and gather material and labor quantities, contributing to the project's financial success.

· Gather, record, and review quotes from pertinent subs IE; plumbing wholesalers, insulation contractors, excavation, and concrete cutting/coring contractors.

· Review specification books to accurately capture piping material types, fixtures, insulation types, tags and markers, etc.

· Download all bid docs from bid invite and store in our hosting platform.

· Prepare and send RFI's to general contractor.

· Build an estimate in our estimation software system.

· Review forecasted project schedule dates and confirm with project management team if dates work with current manpower availability (as needed)

· Prepare a scope/proposal clearly listing inclusions and exclusions in the bid.

· Review contract documents to verify accuracy of the scope of work and pricing.

· Log bid credentials into take off software after completion of bid.

Cross-Team Collaboration

· Collaborate with lead estimator to ensure accuracy of bid and that all bid docs have been reviewed

· Interact with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal Markade teams

· Participate in scope review meetings with lead estimator and project management team during pre-con turn over meetings.

· Participate in pre-award meetings with lead estimator and general contractor as needed.

· Comply with and contribute to expectations for quality and team standards

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in construction/business management (Preferred)

· Entry level experience in working in a construction field (Plumbing Preferred)

· Understanding of the construction process and construction drawings (Preferred)

· Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities

· Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience in BlueBeam, BuilderTrend and BuildOps, Procore, and other project management software (a bonus)

· Excellent analytical, communication, and people skills

· Proficient in typing on a keyboard

· Professional conduct, problem-solving mindset, and team spirit

· Self-starter with initiative and independence
