Location: Murrieta, CA (On-site)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $95,000 - $120,000 (commensurate with experience, licensure, and technical expertise)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Engineer - Geotechnical to join our growing Southern California team. This role is ideal for a licensed California Professional Engineer with strong geotechnical design and project management experience who is progressing toward Geotechnical Engineer (GE) licensure. The successful candidate will lead geotechnical projects from proposal through construction, serve as a technical resource for clients and internal teams, and support business development efforts.
This is a hands-on, on-site position requiring both office and field involvement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects for private and public-sector clients
  • Oversee projects from proposal development through design and construction support
  • Prepare, review, and approve geotechnical reports, proposals, and technical addenda
  • Provide engineering recommendations for land development, infrastructure, and construction projects
  • Delegate and coordinate work with engineering staff and field personnel
  • Oversee and support construction-phase geotechnical services, including site observations and inspections
  • Maintain strong client relationships and support business development initiatives
  • Ensure work complies with applicable codes, standards, and professional practices
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
Licensure
  • Active California Professional Engineer (PE) license - REQUIRED
  • Candidate must be on track to obtain California Geotechnical Engineer (GE) licensure
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of geotechnical engineering experience, including project management
  • Proven experience managing projects from proposal through construction
  • Strong client-facing experience and professional report writing skills
Core Technical Expertise
Candidates must demonstrate experience in the following areas:
  • Shallow and deep foundation design (vertical and lateral capacity)
  • Settlement and liquefaction analyses
  • Slope stability analysis
  • Retaining wall and grading recommendations
  • Construction geotechnical services and site inspections
  • Preparation and review of geotechnical reports, addenda, and proposals
  • Ground motion evaluation experience is a strong plus
Work Expectations
  • On-site role: combination of office work and job site visits
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs of field samples or equipment
